FEBRUARY the 5th is our next DRAGS/BURNOUTS DAY. It is the first one for 2012.
The rainy weekends should be over by now.
So remember, January Speedway on Sunday the 15th will be the last chance for a test'n'tune beforehand.

Our Wilby Park track is a partially sealed circuit, which has a long straight, that ends with a 180 degree hairpin bend, back straight, into a dogleg, kidneys to the sweeper and then onto the front straight again. The track is just over 1 km long, and testing.
Each class races 4 heats by 5 laps. Trophies are awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd highest point scorers at the end of the days racing for their particular class.
Wilby Park's burnout pad is 15 meters x 15 meters square. To become the "burnout king" is a challenge that some people just can't seem to resist. Smoke billowing from the pad and the smell of burning rubber is very much a crowd pleaser.
Cars to compete must have tail shaft loop, all wheel nuts in place, an overflow bottle, 2nd return spring on throttle and no hubcaps. Allowed 1 passenger, and you must wear helmets. The competitor judged to be the "Burnout King" is awarded $200 cash and a trophy.View Larger Map Yes, it is on the Victorian map: South of Yarrawonga and in between Tungamah and Peechelba. Wilby Park is 12 km east of Tungamah, and is on the Peechelba Road. The entrance to our track is via Cemetery Road, which is on the right just before you reach the Wilby Township. There is a large speedway sign on the left a few meters from the Cemetery Road turnoff.
Wilby Park's drag/burnout days for cars and bikes, are very popular too, and competitors and spectators come from far and wide. Many of the cars are regular family cars. Our drag strip is 1/8th mile long. At an average drag day we have 12 classes for cars and 4 classes for motorbikes.
Check UPCOMING DATES for opening & starting times. Once started, it is a continuous line of cars and bikes lining up to go down the strip as many times as they possibly can. At the end of the day the two competitors with the best times in their particular class are into the finals. Trophies are awarded for 1st and 2nd for both male and female competitors.
Cars to compete must have tail shaft loop, an overflow bottle, 2nd return spring on throttle, no hubcaps, all wheel nuts, seatbelt and brakes working.
